If it left you for dust and was a preface then gotta be either the 2.0t or 3.2 v6 tbh. Facelift 2.0t or 2.8t v6. Possibly remapped if it made short work of ya mate
If you have the full reg do a Vehicle Enquiry on the DVLA website.
yup .. a remapped 1.9 would EAT a standard one
Great thinking Kief!
The enquiry is complete

I've been remapped by Reidy tuning to 170BHP(aprox) on my 120 1.9CDTI. He didn't leave me "for dust" but he was edging away at 90mph+. Equally, I seemed to have the edge on 3rd gear pull away when we had been held up by a lane hogger. Maybe he wasn't in the right gear/rev range. Good joust anyway, both of us giving a wave as we let each other take the lead. I would have liked to have had a bit more fun at the top end with him. Alas the restricter* was fitted to my Vec at the time....
Stupid question, I take it "Heavy Oil" in fuel type means Diesel?
What have you done mod wise? a stage one remap will only take your 120bhp cdti upto 150bhp.
sounds fair enough, 1.9(120)remapped against a 2.2dti(remapped or not, who knows). best not to race on roads though, be careful out there.
Don't wanna be a killjoy mate but wouldn't advise posting up about doing 90mph on a public forum....of the other drivers got any sense he won't admit to doing 90mph+ either........no offence meant
