    Default Removing Facelift V Grill

I am looking at getting a vxr v grill painted up and put on Sri veccy.

I understand the bumper needs to come off (may get some siggy fogs and do at same time) , how easy is it to get the chrome v grill off? Looked through threads but no real clue on the job.

    Any info??

Nope, you don't need to remove bumper. The chrome v-grill has got plastic clicks all around. You must be careful because they're very fragile (especially around the badge). Use flat screwdriver or knife but pay attention not to damage chrome paint.

If your doing the surrounds also mate take the bumper off, its a 10 min job, you will access the V grill clips better from the back , ensuring that they dont all break

Take your time and dont snap any

as said remove the bumper for far far easier access and give yourself plenty of time for this job . ... its a pita i recently read a nice tip that i wished i had used ... on the two i have now done

get a bag of cable ties and each time you pop a clip stick a cable ties tapered end into the gap to prevent it from popping back in ... there plastic so wont cause any damage ...and as you work your way around then they will help hold the parts under tension and make it easier as there popping out ....

good luck take your time and dont attempt if you feel stressed in any way ... and dont forget the pictures

    before and during and after

    Cheers for the tips ....

Looking at new V and getting that painted, the chrome V will not be reused so not to worried about them to much.

but you have to make sure you take it out without damaging where the new v grille will go back in as the lugs still need to be able to hold the new painted grille ... and the bottom silver trim is the last bit to go back in
