With a very heavy heart my vectra of 6 and a half years will be sold.
I had decided at the last MOT to keep her and went down to get the timing chain done and had some other bits fitted but over the last few months there have been another few niggles creeping in.
Main reason though is the amount i am spending every week, currently between £75 - £80 in fuel. My other half has bought a new corsa ltd edition cdti that will do between 55 and 80mpg and costs £20 a year to tax and after examining the deal she got i decided to bite the bullet and do the same. I looked at an insignia and the new shape astra and just thought i just want cheap to run motoring and i spend 98% of the time with just me in the car so plumped for the corsa.
It will never be a vectra and i will shed a tear when she goes but even taking account what i will pay in finance and fuel for the corsa i will still save over £100 a month. Add in the fact the tax is £240 a year less and insurance is looking like being £250-£300 a year less and there will be no mot for first 3 years and i will have a warranty i think at the moment for me it is regretfully the right choice.
So after a full detail next weekend and couple ofbits coming off the car my vectra will soon be up for sale and then mid to late sept i will be taking delivery of
Will stick around on here though and hope to be helping out more again soon with stickers once i get stock and access etc.
