Aircon regassed week ago now not working?? :(

i had my vectra regassed last august but it went after a few months, so i got it checked out before it was regassed again last week, they looked over car as they put dye in air con to find a leak but they couldnt find one, so they put dye in again and regassed it and also put some additive in , cant remember what it is called, but apparantely seals alot of the small leaks?? well anyhow a week later and now no air con, it was working one minute and just cut out the next?? bit annoyed knowing i paid £60 odd last week and i will be paying it again to get gas put back in if they cant find a leak this time, anyone got any advice or had same problems??

could be such a small hole that its emtying gas over a week,with the dye did they not use the sniffer gun that detects leaks ??? also failling that they should have put just nitogen through on a seperate pressue as that shows up any leaks aswell

If it was working one minute, then just cut out the next, you could have picked up a stone in the condensor, or it could be an electrical fault i.e. blown fuse...?

With it switched on and the engine running, look at the aircon compressor, is it running? If it's low on fluid, or the fuse has gone etc, the centre of the pulley will not be spinning. If it is spinning, then you've stil got gas and there's another problem. Look at the joint at the front right side of the engine bay, just behind the driver's side headlight. This is a common weak point and often leaks as it's only got one bolt to connect the pipe and pulls the joint together unevenly. A brass brush to clean off the corrosion and a new o-ring should sort the leak.
I did a Zafira yesterday, got a kit from Halfords for about £45 (plus £10 deposit for the can), and that includes the gauge & pipe that is resusable, so only £25 next time... There was just about enough in the can for a full regas.

had mine gassed by kwik fit when i first got the car as it was empty, within a week it was empty so took it back and they regassed it for free the second time saying that if its been empty for a while then perhaps the seals were dry, needless to say within a week it was empty again, local dealership checked it for leaks with a dye and showed that the condensor was cracked, damaged so a replacement was fitted and no problem since.
