Default is it me or is ebay....

getting worse as some of you know i got ripped off by a man on ebay who sold me a dyson hoover he insisted i paid cash when i got it home it did not work so i took it to a shop and the belt was snaped!! he stated it was only 18months old hardly used ect ect faultless so i rang and textd him and he more or less told me to do one he txtd back saying HA HA ... that boiled me anyway im babaling so to cut a long story short i saved him to see what else he got up to and it looks like im not the only one that got scammed by him so for future reference hes called keithflossy123 just so you dont fall into the trap that i did

    LOOK AT HIS FEEDBACK

Never pay cash. Just seems like the bloke is an arse though. No need for bad customer feedback or just to rub it in! Still, its only a drive belt, easy enough to get and replace.

and ebay feedback is one sided ,

the buyer can leave positive or negative feedback ,

but the seller can ONLY leave positive ,

and apparently if the seller leaves a bad feedback on the ( only ) positive section , it gets removed .

i sold an item that required the seller to check the item to satisfaction before collecting / purchasing ,

but the ebay buyer sent their husband , who admitted he was JUST collecting and did not know what it was he was getting .

he checked it over and paid me my money , but 2 hours later his wife , the ebayer , emailed me complaining and left me a neutral feedback with a negative comment .

Why should i get negative feed back because she could not come and view the item herself .

And because i can't leave negative feedback about her not viewing the item ( as the official ebay user ) ,

i have to put up with having a bad mark on my ebay account from her .

Thats sellers feedback doesnt look like he's done anything seriously wrong.. Not being funny but, if you collect something and pay cash, surely you'd check it is as described & functioning before handing over money and taking it home?? Its what I do...

The belt could have unfortunately snapped the moment you powered it on, or the last time the seller powered it off..

Granted the seller shouldnt have been rude in his response to you, but was your communications with him up to that point entirely polite (if you felt agrieved & ripped off with having a hoover not working) ?

In defence of sellers wanting cash instead of paypal, consider this.. If I was selling and somebody was collecting it, there is no way I would accept paypal... If I did the buyer could then open an item not received dispute, how can I prove it was delivered?? They would get a paypal refund...
