No mate, i just cleaned the bar using carb cleaner before glueing the caps on,just make sure the swirl flaps are moving freely. The 3rd one across on the right is driven by the actuator so it will not move until u rev the engine.
A bit of WD40 does a good job of cleaning the muck off the area. If you pull off the glow plug leads it makes life better to get at them.

    Default Inlet.........

    Hi mate,
My car in garage just now because of swirl flap failure. tried repair but no good and oil was shooting out of the 3rd and 4th from the right. Job requires new inlet manifold, gasket, drive actuater and possibly tech 2 to set up. Arnold clark quoted £1500 approx to do whole job which i opted NOT to go for, then a call back from them quoting £976 to repair after "loyalty discounts" taken into consideration.(STEALERS) never a truer word said.
My local mechanic is now doing the whole job for £620 which is better for me.
Hope you can solve yours with the quick fix.

Most of it is labour charge as it takes a good 6 hours to do.

Also worth getting a cambelt and water pump done at the same time whilst its in bits if its near a belt change.
