Default shall I be daring enough to attempt the headlight re-furb?

My headlights look gash at the minute with horrible greeny mouldy type stuff on it.

Ive seen the how2, but im not too confident when working on cars - whats the worst that could go wrong, or am I being a wuss and should just get on with it?

Or even better anyone want to do it for me, i'll pay in big brown beer vouchers!

    cheers

If you were closer i'd do it for you. If you have the kit, or the massive amount of elbow grease then its easy

I've used this in the past on my Hyundai Coupe

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREYGATE-P...item19c73a7360

Worked quite well for me with a rotary polisher, or by hand if you got the patience? Maybe worth a try or to keep on top of it if you use the How2 method

You'll be there a few hours using just plastic polish alone. Plus you would get through gallons of it.

Its not that scary really. Just get a good rubbing compound. Thats where the magic happens.

The 3M stuff is expensive (about £25) a bottle but it can be used on the body work for light scratches (e.g. door handles) then polish afterwards.

    It'll be fine! :-)

    Vehicle : Vectra GSi 3.2 V6

I just ordered a quantity of wet and dry for this very task on my own pre-facelift Vectra. I got five sheets of 1200-, 1500-, 2000- and 2500-grit. So I'll be the one using the elbow grease method...

A How To for headlamp correction would be very useful... HINT...

If the lights are really bad I'd suggest starting at 800 grit.
