Default Full service history my ****!..

This vectra I've just bought was sold to me as having a full service history and would receive its next service before I collected it. Looking through the service manual and rather than the full service that's due, its been given another interim service, meaning there's a gaping hole in the service history!!

I'm starting to get really ****ed off with this all now!

All they'd do is change the oil regardless of what service it was meant to be mate...

having the same discussion with who I bought mine off. Supposed to have had what it needed - would have been a full service, odd that the air filter is filthy!

Doesn't matter if the air filter is filthy, if its not part of that specific service(think its 40K for a filter) it doesn't get changed, which is absolutely nuts imo!!! You change them when they are dirty!!!

I always get a deal and tell garages not to bother servicing it or doing anything when I buy cars - much rather save money on the purchase and do it myself...

The service it should have had (as listed by the local main VX dealer):
    4th service main service:
    Fuel filter
    Oil filter
    Oil change
    Air filter
    Pollen filter
    Glow plugs
    Brake fluid change

I've had a call from the manager at the dealer that sold it to me and he's agreed that if it was due a main service it should have been given one. He's going to check exactly what it's had done and get back to me.

I agree, refer to the Service Book and OE Service Schedule
If the service was not as required, then discuss with the sales person

Sadly you have not advised if the vehicle was purchased from an independent garage or VX franchise (and equally if Network Q is included)
If it was a VX franchise, then I would complain direct to VX

When I bought mine there was no Service Book, but it was not yet due a service
My Network Q plan included servicing and it received its first service, then a few weeks later the Service Book arrived only to find out it had already had its first service a few months earlier
I then obtained a copy of the OE Service Schedule and argued over the oil they had used in the service
At the next service they used the same oil and VX instructed the dealership to use the correct oil, those details were added to the vehicle record and they never made the same mistake again

Also, be aware there are two services for the Vectra C
The OE is used when under warranty and/or when a third party is paying for servicing
The MasterFit service can be used otherwise, but be aware this does not include any filters (apart from the oil filter) and advises on them only

It was bought from a company called Quicks which is owned by pendragon so while an not a vx main dealer, the wider company includes vx main dealers.

Had a call from some bloke called Steve from Quicks telling me he's arranged for the car to be booked in for the FULL service in a couple of weeks.

Glow plugs are'nt involved in any service schedule they get replaced when they fail. Dealers are tight when selling cars all they will give it is an oil and filter change.
