Very noisy tyres!!!

Picked up the new car this eve and can't believe how loud the tyres are! Over about 40 they start droning and it just gets louder and louder! There's no vibration on the steering so it's not a balancing issue. Does anyone have experience of Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 tyres?

have a look at the inside of the rear tyres common for them to wear with a stepped pattern if u get my drift spin wheels you'll see the bumps thats proberbly whats giving you noise

yep, sounds like the tyres are 'cut'

Its when each 'square' of tread is worn unevenly, creating an up n down feeling if you rub your hand over the tyre treads round the circumference.

This question seems to pop up quite a lot on the forum..?therefore i'm going to set up a poll to see if we can highlight these noisy tyres...my tyres are very loud on most road surfaces ,and they are the fronts only...Wanli is the make....

Just been out and had a feel, the drivers front and passenger rear are the worst!

what make are they , some brands are naturally noisy.

Can you feel the uneven treads Dave? I had tyres like that years ago on Audi wheels. They'd make a hell of a racket up to 50-55 and then go quieter again at motorway speed.

Yeah, can feel the ridges under your hand. Is it worth contacting the dealer and complaining about the uneven wear on the tyres or is it a lost cause?
