    Default Would You Say Condensor?

Had my car since april this year....aircon fine but noticed one cap missing where you put the hoses on for re-gassing...never thought no more of it...located it when i changed a headlamp bulb under the air filter box so though it must of been regassed at some point....couple of weeks ago aircon didn't feel cold..it comes on..pump clicks in etc but not kicking out cold air...get it regassed at my garage assuming its just low and all's fine untill this week again when it starts hissing when i click the aircon on..pump cuts in but not cold so had it back to the garage and checked the condensor...100% truthful there was dye in the system from the last regass but i couldn't locate any traces from the condensor while looking through the grill in the bumper....basically my friend owns the garage and he lets me repair my own car on his ramp....
Would the chances of it not being the condensor be slim do you think...the condensor looks like its had a beating from stones etc but untill i pull the bumper on saturday can't 100% tell...just want to organise the part so just wondering if its a common issue or would you look elsewhere?

Are they easy to change as well?

Yeah and the glasses,i could only rearly see the section where the bottom grill is on the bumper so not great coverage
but from what i could see of that the fins looked tired shall we say in certain places....advised though they normally
go at the sides not sure how true that is?

Prone to stones flying up and into them through the lower grill.

Just had mine done. Mine was stone damaged and wouldn't hold the gas.

Going to, as advised on this forum, fit some fine mesh between the grill and condensor.

I paid £170 plus fitting and gassing.

The condensor came with another part which was also replaced (can't remember the name of it)

I know I paid over the odds, they can be had for less than £100 if you search them out. They had my car in bits so had to go with what they charged. They did warn me what the cost could be though, before proceeding.

Not a bad price really if it includes the fitting labour and a regass. Gas on it's own is normally 40 odd
