Alternative recirculation servo

I started to get the clicking noise from behind the dash the other day and so have taken the passenger side of the car apart. Sure enough, one of the gear teeth has gone on my re-cir servo.

I have got hold of a re-cir servo from a vectra without air con, mine has. Does the servo have to be replaced with exactly the same part, or can a different re-cir servo be substituted?

imo it should be the same... recirc/vents ect should be common to all... if you've got one.. try it

Why don't you repair the tooth like I did?, easy. I put a post on here somewhere a few weeks ago.

Well I tried the alternative but nothing happened when i pressed the recirculation button.

I did read the toothbrush repair method, I'll give it a go.
