    Default Overheating or not ???

Coming home from work tonight i noticed the temp gauge was sitting at just over 90 degrees, normally it sits at a steady 85. I know its warmer now its the summer but is this ok

What temperature does it have to be before the fan kicks in ?????

I think it may depend on your engine to some degree.... but on my 3.2 they spin up once it's over straight up by about a needle's width... rough guess about 92-95 and cut out once it's below about 85ish.

is it diesel? i never hear my fan kick in but i know it does because ive opened the bonnet before it kicks in just to see if it works, same with my vectra b td i think its the diesel noise that rides the sound of the fan out,

ive noticed mine goes to 90c when booting it fan kicks in at 92-93

When the gauge is at 90, the actual temperature is more around 95-96°C, at least that's how my 3.0CDTi works

    yes , its a 1.9 150 .
I might let it run for a few minutes with the bonnet open when i come home from work tomorrow, just to see if the fan does work.

Driving from Newcastle to Southampton in a few weeks time , and i am getting a little paranoid , lol

Mines the same mate....normall just above 85..now sits normal running 90-91 it does go a tad further say in the middle of 90-95 when stationary then the fan kicks in and takes it to just above 85 again and the process starts again if sat still...perfectly normal this weather.
