Talking Colour coded V project is finally complete!

This project took me 3 months from start to finish.

I made so many mistakes along the way as I had never done this before which involved alot of sanding back and starting again quite a few times. Not to mention buying lots of rattle cans.

Here is the very very very brief visual history.

Chromed V sanded roughly with 600 Grit then slightly smoothed out with 800 grit.

Just one of very many primer coats. I used plastic primer first (3 coats)

The last coat of Black Sapphire (still drying) before a bit of cutting paste action over the next 24 hrs to flatern it out more.

As I had my rear bumper repaired and painted yesterday in a Body shop they very kindly for free applied one more coat of paint then laquered it then baked it in their oven. I installed this today over lunch at work and took some pics when I got home this evening.

Ah I love it and recommend anyone with the patience of a saint to give this a go too. Mind you I did have a very good helping hand and the end. Funny what fate brings you when some silly lady reverses into your car

Oh I painted my eyebrows which are hiding in the airing cupboard for the next few weeks whilst the lacquer harderns. I think the front will be pretty much complete then.

Thanks for your kind replies lads. Im so chuffed with it.

As for the eyebrows R2XPT I have ummmed and arrredd over them for so long but I will fit them as they (like the Insignia SRi courtesy car i had for two days) have grown on me. Thanks for your comment though. Funny how members opinions are very devided over these.

Edit : Good luck with the resprays Triple. Hope they turn out good (which im sure they will). I'm bet you will be over the moon when you go to get them/car!
