Default help on brakes need asap

can anyone help me please. my neighboors signum 2l turbo burst a brake pipe a few weeks ago i replaced the pipes and bled it through i have since fitted new discs and pads all round and rebled them. now the problem is when the engine is off the brake pedal pumps up solid but as soon as you use the brakes with the engine running if you keep applying presure to the brakes the pedal will gradually sink to the floor. so after discusions with mechanics they all said the same that it was the master cylinder so i have replaced that today rebled the brakes and its still the same can anyone shed any light on what it could be. i dont know wether it did it before the brake pipes burst either so it might have been like it before hand.
    cheers
    ben

Apart from that issue do the brakes work ok under normal operation? The Vec can suffer from brake pedal creep. Have you checked the vacum pipe to the servo?

Sounds about normal to me mate. I take it you opened the nipple to push the pistons back in or did you just take the cap off the reservoir?

no opened the nipples to push the pistons back so not to get any crap up the lines tried disconnecting the vacume and run the engine and the brakes stay solid and no spongyness so i dont know if theyve always been like that but they do work.

I have just changed the discs and pads on my 08 vectra and it does exactly as you describe. Mine felt better before I touched them! I'm going to try and bleed them tomorrow incase there is any air in the system. The handbrake comes up too far too.

a zafira isnt a vectra ....there not the same car mate unless you hadn't noticed ...!

if you have beld it and no bubbles and the pedal is hard once pressed hard and only creaps when slight presh is put on it ..then it is ok ...
