    Default Remap queries again!!

I've recently got a 3.0 V6 CDTI ('04 pre facelift) and have been trawling through a few of the threads in this section on remaping, tuning boxes, ECU flashes etc.

Am more than happy with my new car but have started getting the little demon on one shoulder telling me go for it and an angel on the other telling me to leave it as it is .

I am a total novice to car tuning and would appreciate any comments or advise on the following and what would be the best for my car if I was to 'go for it'.

    1. Remap (seems the safest option from what I've read), tuning boxes or ECU flash (?)

    2. Do you have to notify your car insurance co?

    3. How much can these effect your mpg?

    4. Any recommendations on places to get the tuning done , ideally in the north west.

    5. Likely costs of work.

A well worn out subject I know, but any help much appreciated.

Just had a look on the Diesel Tuner web site (pleny of info) and see they do a CR2, can anyone advise if they've fitted one to a 3.0 V6 CDTI.

The main product I have seen is CRD and the CRD2 boxes and they produce healthy increases! 220bhp 450nm torque.

Mark the Cabby has a really good remap from somewhere too?

VPC can sort you as well! That is my personal recommendation.

Yep, place called Torquing BHP in Cambridge. Gave a very nice graph at the recent East RR meet. I'm sure he'll be along to give more info.
