    Default went through one of those speed traps today

    was doing 30mph in 4th on the speedo and it told me I was doing 28mph so speed not that far out

    I thought it was going to be a "caught speeding" thread, glad for you its not!
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Yep, you'll usually find that a speedo over reads by a few mph.

    so drive a few mph faster to compensate!

    yeah just was suprised it was not much. should go through it at 20 next see if it says 18 or 19mph

    Try it at 90, the faster you go the further out your speedo is

    yep my speedo reads 100MPH and my Origin shows 88MPH and the TOMTOM shows 89MPH

    Your speedo is the more accurate of the 3. The Origin & TomTom rely on GPS to calculate your speed by plotting your position witin 1.5 meters and unless you are locked on to more than 15 satellites at any one point in time, at that speed it won't be accurate and then to only +-5%. Between 3 and 15 satellites it is +- 20% and I hope that it was not 100mph on a public road

    I find that at 35mph my GPS says I'm doing 32mph, but at 80mph its says I'm doing 77mph, so still only about 3mph difference!

    yep, but i still drive to the cars Speedo, rather than the GPS, as those couple of mile an hour are my 'buffer' from the tickets..


    Just got to see now if i get any photo's of my car from Beds police.. .. Doctor DJ did say he enjoyed playing with the GSi yesterday..
