Default Is V-Power Diesel best for long motorway haul

Going on our hols next week and we've got a long drive down to south coast and down to west coast of France. I was thinking about filling up with V Power diesel. More expensive I know but would it level out price wise as you get better economy with the V Power? Also does it have any cleaning properties so my engine will benefit from a long run?

i just drove to Poland on normal diesel and got maximum 59mpg
from my 2.2dti and now about to go back in 2 days so will try V-power Diesel
and see whats up with MPG on better diesel side
(I got 600 miles from my 50L tank and i have Automatic i think its OK)

I think tests were done with the V Power fuels not so long ago which showed normal cars see very little benefit while high performance vehicles achieve a slight gain in economy.

Dude, you have a 60 litre tank and 600 miles from it is about 50mpg. Strill a decent showing from a 2.2 DTi Auto though...

Read a thread on VXR on line over the weekend and a guy driving a vxr astra did a trial and found that he was actualy getting less mpg with v power compared with tesco,s own 99 ron .
Believe it worked out at 3 miles less per gallon but on another post some one reported getting misfireing from tesco fuel so preffered to stay with shell
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

I seem to get an extra 2 / 3 mpg from vpower diesel, not sure if it is / isnt worth the price but like to chuck a tank full in every 3 months.

Add 1:200 2 stroke oil. That will give more mpg.
