Default £165.00 for a oil change.

Service is due on 58 plate 1.9 cdti with just over 15k on the clock, Vauxhall want £165.00 for a service car will be 3yrs old in November this year.

Im paying for a oil and filter change and a pollen filter, would you pay this amount for that to keep in warranty or go to a independant or do it yourself?

By Nov should be on about 18-19k when out of warranty and £165.00 seems a lot of cash for not a lot.

Decisions to be made a local indie approx £125.00

Most of those checks done in the service are what I've just had done. It's called an MOT, and cost me £30.

Done my own servicing, but yep that's a good deal for servicing and the breakdown cover. I've just paid £94 for my breakdown cover, covers 2 cars though.
    Can't go wrong at that.

I looked into that 99 quid deal for service & breadown cover, its an interim service which is basically an oil change & the breakdown cover is the cheapest package from the AA, which is just 27 quid when bought online.. Its the basic sort of recovery where if you break down and they cant fix they only take you and car to nearest garage, they dont take you and your car home... So not brilliant if you breakdown hundred odd miles away from home...

I had mine done recently, oil, fuel and pollen filters with oil change. Bought parts from dealer on Trade Club, then got local independent to change oil and oil/fuel filters. Caame to under £100 and they signed/stamped my book.

I'd do it myself but the car is still in warranty so I'd buy the bits u would need from trade club and get a local garage to do it and stamp ur book or as suggested Vauxhall garage doing there deal

I guess it all depends on how much you value a VX service stamp as that is really the only thing vauxhall can offer that you can't do yourself.
