Hi fast esi, check the vacuum hoses and the T pieces (the pipe joints)they get brittle and crack, they usually give a P0638 or P0234 code but not allways.they are the small rubber pipes around the engine, there is also a filter element in the vacuum system that gets blocked.causes loss of power and black smoking.

you can get the pipe at any motor spares shop, you need about 1.5 meters, remove one at a time and use old ones to cut new to size, check all t pieces for cracks when you remove them, pipe should only cost about £5,

Ebay - search for SILICONE HOSE or PIPE

    http://www.yell.com/

search for 'car performance parts' in your area or 'car tuning' or similar.

    Try 'motor factors' as well.

Did you check ALL turbo pipes? Just recently our 2.2DTi cracked the smalles one there is i.e. the one right after the turbocharger. Have a look there too as it's often overlooked. These engines shouldn't smoke. I think you either have a boost leak (turbo pipes OR cracked intercooler) or a faulty/dirty sensor like EGR, boost sensor.

Check to see if any of them are leaking first!

You should also see what fault (spanner) codes are stored in the car. A local garage will be cheaper than the dealership for this... or if there is a member near you with a code reader that can help you...??

Try to diagnose the fault properly, before buying bits and spending money in hope
