Default Ignition live near center speaker.

Hi all just got back from my weekend break and meeting up with a member from another forum to collect my Road Angel 2.

now i want to hard wire it in as nothing worse than a springy cable running down my dash now ive got it situated right at the bottom in the middle of my windscreen just above where the center speaker is. what im needing to know before i go hammer and tongs at it, is there somewhere to splice the power cable in there somewhere or is it easy enough to run a cable down the back to the ciggy socket so i can wire it in under there? i just plan on cutting off the socket and useing the cable provided to save cash soany insight would be great, Cheers

If you take the front vents out and the centre speaker out, you can see a small gap goes all the way through. I fitted my satnav aerial this way, mounted the aerial above the centre speaker and ran the cable through to the back of the head unit. You can run a cable through and tap off the ignition live on the radio or down to the cigarette lighter, easy job

Yup, pop the silver dash strip out above the glove box and you'll see the four torx screws that hold the centre vents and screen in place, undo them and it just pops out.

Edit: too late you're there lol

As long as it's off the black wire (positive) and not the brown one (earth).
