Default Anywhere else i can get cim programmed?

Is there anywhere or anyone who can programme a new/secondhand cim to my 2003 vectra? Pretty sure its playing up as the dash is going dead when i turn the wheel. I know a guy at the dealers so can get it done for around £414 plus i will probably need to buy a car pass and diagnostics, is there a way of doing it if i buy a secondhand one. (Of course i know the risks as it will be around the same age etc so may not have too much life left in it) I just cant afford that sort of cash to get it done, well not for 6 months or so...

CIM and keys can be had off ebay for a few 10's of £.

AFAIK, the old keys need to be depaired from the car before the new ones are paired. This is only from memory of reading a post on here. Try a search & PM someone who's done it!

I checked the abs ug? Could you please givemesome more info on this? Basically when and only when i turn the steering wheel the needles go dead, wipers/indicators cancel then the eml comes on and clears pretty quick. How could the abs affect this? Apologies for my stupidity if this is common, im not that clued up technically

i think it needs to see a tech 2 /3 and some one that can diag the fault ...doing over the net and guessing isnt the best when it comes to expensive parts ....

If i did find a new or secondhand cim is it a sort of job that can be done by a member? Or is the fitting and programming a specialist job? Theres no way i would even attempt to do it myself, totally gutted tbh really like the car although theres plenty to do on it!!! Its giving the wife a whole load of ammo lol

can easily be done by someone with a private tech2 or vaux-com unit
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

You will have to get a cim with the same part no and indent QJ or something like that. You can get on seconhand but it must be unpaired from the doner car. I you remove the top coulung you will see part no and indent. My experence you need tech 2 to program it in. if you PM your reg I wil se if any other indeny is compatable.
