auto lights off

I was sat in the car at work the other day and watched a bloke pull up in a new peugeot 207 and get out and walk off without turning his lights off. I was just about to shout to him and they went off. That reminded me that the vectra has someting similar? Am i right in thinking it has some sort of parking light type thing?

Yes, Light Your Way Home'. When you remove the key,open the drivers door, pull the indicator stalk toward you, headlights and reverse lights come on for 30 secs after you close the door. Great idea, pain when putting in reverse sensors.

LOL!! never thought about that!! what happens? you get out of the car, flick the indicator stalk, switch the lights on and go round the back to get something out of the boot all the while hearing the car at you!??

Aren't the sensors powered from the ignition live, eradicating this problem?

The Vec also has Parking lights for info ... engine off and key out and hit the indicator one way or the other and one side of the side lights come on ... useful to ensure idiots have one less excuse of "I didn't see you parked there" visiting shops etc at night.

Also ... completely unrelated but made me wonder if others knew when I was cleaning my wipers the other night ... did you know if you turn the ignition off then push the wiper stalk down the wipers will move until you let go so you can leave them in the up position to clean etc?

i didn't know that!!! awesome! it's pain lifting the wipers because you always have to do the drivers side before the passengers side and even then you have to have to 'lift' the drivers one over the passengers side one in order to clean the windscreen properly!!

err I think I read that in the manual of my first Vec ... I don't often read manuals but when it's a prduct like a car with various hidden bits I like to at least skim read

did'nt know that just been out & tried the lights & wippers (lol) it works

I like the close the lleccy windows when it rains gizmo, leave the windows open, dead lock the car & if it rains they close themselves, very cool if you've got leccy windows all round, never tried it for real, some thieving scum would have the stereo!! Tested it though & it works
