Default Led into the dimming mirror

I asked about fitting a Led into the dimming mirror but no one had done it or knew how to do it.

So as it was raining and I had some time (Fatal lol) I decided to take the mirror apart.

The mirror is clipped together very well and expect to break a few clips (They are inside so it doesnt matter). I used a couple of butter knifes and 'prised' the two halfs apart.

Once open the mirror and pcb come out as one, the led that points down is mounted in a pcb on its own that slides out of the housing. Then just replace the led

    Few pictures for others:

Just wondering if I could pick your brains guys

I managed to get hold of an Auto dimming mirror a couple of weeks ago and cracked it open with the intension of swapping the LED.

Not sure what voltage/type LED to get (red one preferably ) could anyone advise what type and voltage to get please.....

Thought I'd try to get the LED swapped over first then try and figure out wiring the mirror into the car when I get back to uk in the next couple of days.

Would it be a 12 volt LED???

    Many thanks in advance guys

    Damo
