    Default Headlight Bulbs - Upgrade

    Hi everyone

I'm going to take the plunge and upgrade my H7 Headlights (because my current stock ones are terrible).

    Question:

Osram Silverstars or Philips Vision Plus

    or any other recommendations?

    Cheers
    Denzo

    Depends what you're after m8.

If you want more light on the road, then according to Auto Express:

    Osram Silver Star
5 Star award - Best Buy Award - Beam: 96.9m

"The flagship bulb in Osram's range, the Silverstar's 75m figure was only a fraction better than that of arch-rival Philips (right), but it performed significantly better at 50m. Add a price advantage, and the Osram's plus 50 per cent competitor is our Best Buy."

    Philips Vision Plus
    4 Star award - Recommended Award - Beam: 95.1m

"Philips' top-of-the-range option is a superb bulb which performed comfortably ahead of the plus 30% premium versions. You just cannot ignore the performance, which is why the Vision Plus merits our Recommended award."

You can buy them at www.powerbulbs.com

    Hello

In a swedish test Philips GT 150 Powernight was the winner.

    ( H7 / 55W)

You can "read" the test here

    http://www.automotorsport.se/biltest...ame=050303.pdf

Look at the yellow table, ther you can see the bulbs and test results (in %)

I changed to Osram Silver Stars and I can tell a difference, but the difference is so small that to be quite honest I don't know if it's worth bothering.

I found the Phillip's bulbs a considerable improvement over the original. The Omega that I had before my Signum had Xenon's, and they go some way to compensating for the loss.
Mind your knuckles when you change 'em, though.......

Don't think they will be illegal mate as they are still 5w... just give a white light instead of the normal yellowish beam

Edit: I think the offer applies to any headlight bulb purchase

Don't think the blue side lights are legal at all, need to be amber

If you get these free, they may be for off road use only - I would just bin them
