Default windows/cars and footballs, criminal damage?

Ok, started off the evening at 9pm, rear neighbour had doog trying to smash through the dividing fence, barking and snarling, while he egged it on. I can deal with that.
Half an hour later, two kids from opposite front, younger and older girl this time (last time was younger girl/older brother) playing football using our front bedroom window and my car as goalposts. They were told a couple of weeks back that hitting the house was scaring Wendy's show cats, and hitting the car would incur my wrath.
Tonight, they managed to hit the house window dead on. Wendy was in room at the time, the cats like to sit looking out of the window, and it literally made them poo themselves. Wendy went out and reminded them they had been asked NOT to use our house as goal and told it was scaring valuable show cats. Older girl kept quiet, younger girl gave a sulky "soh-ree". Mother was in their window watching, and, as I usually am the one goes out, wondered if they were trying to say I'm picking on young girls. Still don't know why they won't speak anymore.
Back to point, should they break window, or do damage to car, is it an offence?

Lol, single woman parent, kids have diffeent fathers, think she puts them up to it, just don't know why. We were all friendly till they all blanked Wendy's 50th birthday party.
Could try the police if damage done, but locally they don't seem very interested. May just run a knife through the football if they p me off enough.
The lad keeps coming over on our patio, sliding under my car and giving me a list of jobs he says needs doing. Of course, he is saving up for his Bugatti veyron as/when he passes his test

Ian dude you and Wendy need to get out of there tbh. It sounds like you are fighting a loosing battle with your neighbours. They also sound like the kind that will raise the game everytime you react to it. When it comes to kids these days its just not worth confronting them as you never know what they say to parents and others plus they can make your life hell as they know they will just get a slapped wrist from the law due to the whole sticks and stones.....
If I was in your shoes I would just get out and make a new start, you and Wendy plan on renewing your vows. Start a new chapter in a new place with new neighbours and no stress. I know its not nice to pack up and leave as its not your fault. But I dont see things getting better before they get worse and you and Wendy need to take care of yourselves . Stick your middle finger up to them and walk away dude be the bigger man.

But dont forget we still need that noisy detailing meet at yours lol.

Ive seen what kids can do when they are told to do one by adults. About 2 1/2 years ago we was evacuated from our estate. A man had told some kids of for playing football by his car, next day they used his wall to play volley ball again he told em where to go. Next day we was evacuated the kids set fire to his wheelie bin and placed it by his gas meter...........

Kids got away with it because it was his word against the gang of kids, plus the parents (well known drug takers etc) said they were in her garden at the time.

I live opposite a park and I have learnt how to talk to the kids and they respect me because I talk to them calmly and come up with deals that benifit us all. But if I was having the trouble you get I would pack up and start fresh........You just got to think of your family and health.......Rant over haha.

It's not an offence if the ball accidentally hits your property (including car) unless you can prove that's what they intended to do. Otherwise it's just an "accident", but they're still liable for the cost of repair.

sounds like you need to move tbh, we rented a place on a ruff est because it was cheap, we were the odd ones out because we both worked.

i got accused of running over a kid on the est police envolved the lot, turns out this kid was on the protection register, that was it for me we moved out 2 weeks later.
