    Default Timing/cam belt 100k service.....

Changed my timing/cam belt, tensioner, and pulleys, all as per 100k service 2004 Vec c CDTI V6, actual mileage currently 92,343 miles. When i checked the old belt i found it to be badly worn, fraid, and splitting, i don,t think it would have made 100k.....

It really is a genius setup on the 3.0 - possibly one of the easiest cambelts to change, ever...

    Thumbs up

I also changed the "serpentine belt" also as per 100k service, and had to change the x2 metal pulleys and the rear plastic pulley all found to be noisey when spun.....

I think it's pulleys on my v belt that are making noise.

I got a VX dealership to change mine and do the service last year as I didn't have a clue where to start, and had never done a cambelt on something this modern. I was also secretly hoping they'd mess it up and they'd have to give me a new engine...

Which ones mate? I'm interested in this myself as my engine is really noisy once up to temperature.

Interesting that yours was showing such signs of wear at that mileage - wonder why???

Like you, I didn't feel happy with letting it run to 100,000... Got VX to do mine at 85,000 and it all looked nearly new and the idlers were all sound.

At least if they messed it up, they would have to give me a new engine, too

Is it this one you changed mate? http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWAX:IT Unfortunately, this one is not available anymore.

Did you notice an improvement in engine sound?
