Ok, hope this is right section after mods appeal......
I'm refurbing a set of pre facelift SRi alloys. Got on fine with prep and paint, ready to start with lacquer, just not sure if I should flat the paint with some 1500 grit wet and dry?
Need to get a couple done this weekend, as Wendy not keen on the new tyres being stacked up on front room.....don't ask.

Not sure if you've used a metallic paint or not, but if you have then definitely no, you should never flat back metallic or pearl paint before lacquering.

Ok, cheers both of you. Not sure if it's metallic (poundland special). Hopefully I can get two ready over weekend.
