    Unhappy Vectra c 2.0t Z20NET low power

Hi. I hope you guys can help me because i don't know what to do.this car got my nerves stretched to the max. For over 2 months i have this problem. Whenever i press the pedal close to full throttle after a while , the limp mode icon appears on the dash (the icon looks like a car and a key over it and it's yellow )
The car looses boost i think , and it's accelerating slower than before but the turbo is not off completely. I can still hear it but it seems to be running on low boost. Do you have any ideea what this can be ? I went to make a test and no error on computer except "cylinder misfire" and a parking sensor error.

I forgot to mention that after i turn the engine off , the error is no longer on the dash but if i try to be more aggresive with the throttle it accelerates well and brings the smile on my face but after a few minutes the devilish icon comes back to life again and ruins my day. Please help me !!!

if your getting a cylinder mifire then possibly a coil pack or plug have failed ..get them checked ... if the car detects any issues it will drop into limp mode and the turbo is removed fromt he equasion to prevent any significant damage being inflicted to the car ...

after you check plugs disconnect the battery for 10 minutes (make sure you have the car pass for radio code if needed) and then when you reconnect it will clear the older faults and when you retest you can see if the problem is resolved

tricky one.. although when my coils failed it did not put it into limp mode it made the acceleration shakey and useless.. as above start with new spark plugs and try swapping your outer coils 1 and 4 with the two inner coils 2 and 3. I would be tempted to try a new boost solenoid known as a Charge Air Bypass Valve to resolve to boost issue but equally I would be looking for an air leak in the pipes somewhere.. A fuel and air filter chnage may be a good idea, depends on when they were last changed etc..

As for your parking sensor fault you will probably find that one of the plugs has come of the back of a sensor, thats all mine was.

Good advice from two knowledgeable chaps above (even if one has gone to the dark side, and in an automatic at that), but you'll do well to find out what the fault codes are that the ECU is storing, as it could give a good idea of the root cause of the issue.

Try this method for reading the fault codes. It may work (did on mine), or it may not - if it doesn't, then invest in a £25 code reader from ebay.

it sounds like a boost fault to me , maybe boost solenoid ?? as above , it really wants plugging into properly OR better still a live data scan

Most likely is a split or slipped boost hose or as mentioned above a coil pack.
