    Default Removing a tow bar?

Is it just a simple case of taking a socket set to the bolts and unplugging any wires or is there some tech2 work involved?

cant help you im afraid but removing the tow bar from my old 2.2 was a right pain.

couldnt remove it myself and in the end took it to my local independant who also couldnt couldnt remove it - he eventually got it off with a grinder.

after that i had a permanant airbag warning light on the dash

which type is it my towbar is a removable one with the electrics under the car all i have done is removed the swan neck ball and left electrics under the car on its own baracket
if its a permenant towbar one take it off and disconect electrics and thread the electrics back in to the boot and then reconect it and leave it in the boot only you will know its their and it will save you getting the towbar turned off by tech 2

Canx that just got some off ebay.

The towbar only has 4 bolts in it which can be accessed from the boot, when I had mine fitted there was no need to take bumper off..

thats a fixed flange one by the looks of it, same as mine, as for the electrics your best looking in the cubbyhole to see if you can see either the VX wiring into the REC or a 7 way bypass relay prob below the rear light cluster. looks like below.

If its the VX wiring I cant see it being a prob, just unplug it and see if anything appears on the display if not your fine.

if its the bypass relay, just take it out no possibility of errors.

    Cheers.

I collect the car wed/thurs next week so will either ask them to remove it before I take the car or have a poke around next weekend.

Its quite easy taking if off, If I knew how easy it was before I had mine fitted I would of done it myself and saved over £120. its literally 4 bolts that hold it in the boot floor, with a stiffening plate either side. I can try and get some pics of the boot interior later on if you want.

If it's just 4 bolts I'll do it myself then.
