Thumbs down 1.9cdti 150, DMF & CRB Squeel

    Hi all,

Looking for some basic advice, I know that my DMF is on the way out, but been putting it off up until now.

In the last 3 weeks, I'm getting a high pitch Squeel when part way through the biting point, and sometimes when the clutch is all the way in. I assume this to be the clutch release bearing.

I do mostly motorway mikes, 48 in a day, and am wondering how much longer I can go without replacing, or causing serious damage?

Cheapest quote so far is £849 for DMF and clutch kit (does this include the CRB?).

Anyone know any cheaper places near Warrington to get the work carried out?
    Please PM if so!

    Thanks!

There are quite a few on here that have had the DMF clutch pack and slave all done for £650 ish I think a place was found down in brum that might be close enough to you?

It does sound like the DMF has bought it and some,,, have got 20K out of it, others have ended up with destroyed gearboxes and one poor soul even had his crank snap in two! so be ready to have this looked at, its a design flaw common to all DMF type applications in all cars really.

Yea it isn't great that's for sure. I'm moving house this weekend which is the pain in the backside in terms of cost.

Fortuantely it's closer to work, so I'm going to leave the Veccy at home, and cycle in.

Brum is a little bit far in all honesty, about 88 miles away - not to mention I'ts normally two days work - good suggestion though.

Most garages are able to do the sap in about 5>6 hours in fairness and this place I cannot recall but Wolverhampton rings a bell was soooo much cheaper!

Have a phone round your local clutch specialists... if there isn't one near you then i can recomend either CG motor sport - Leeds or Top Gear Transmissions - Cleckheaton & you shouldn't be paying any more than £700 all in inc VAT

Yea looks that way, not sure of any decent ones in Warrington mind you - may be internet trawling time.
