Question rattling rear pads on my old veccy B

I recently changed the rear pads on my old veccy B, I also fitted new retaining pins, spring clips and I copper greased the back of the pads.

However the pads now rattle around in the calipers making an awful noise but obviously are fine under braking. I took them out and smeared on a healthy amount of extra copper grease but this has not resolved the issue..

I have searched the other relevant vec sites but have found no solution to this, people have had the same issue but have ended the threads with useless posts like 'all sorted now' without explaining what they did the resolve the problem..

I know some of you have had Vec B cars in the past, can anybody remember having this problem and what they did to fix it? I would like to fix this on saturday as I will be doing the rear ARBs as well...

    Any ideas?

Bleed the brakes mate, shoudl help. Also, check the caliper bolts (if they were opened).

This was happeneing on mine last week and drove me round the bend trying to suss it out, fortunately for me it was just the pad spring. New one fitted and perfect.

They are not gm pads but that's never been an issue on other cars, I will have a fiddle with the spring clip to see if I can mod it and make it a tighter fit.

Brakes were fully bled at the time I changed pads. Its defo the pads rattling

It can be an issue when you dont use original equipment especially brake pads ive had experience of it at work and on my old gsi when i first bought it and the dealer had fitted cheapo brake pads instead of original vauxhall ones to save a few bob, if the pad is rattling or clunking and everything is tight including the spring then its the pads being a bad fit. An example is copy body panels now some of them you would think are'nt even designed for the car you have bought them for
