Default refurbing preface headlights! anyone in yorkshire lend a hand??

My headlights are starting to look hazey and not crysyal clear, the have little tiny stars on the tops of them, like suns cracked them and they feel rough to touch in places. I have read a how2 on here which involves sandpaper and allsorts! Which i dont have a clue on detailing and these type of things! What equipment and products would i need to buy?? And if anyone that knows how wants to give me a hand i wud really appretiate it! Or ill propably go grey and fill up the swear box in minutes if im on my own!! Or even worse have to buy new lamps! Lol

Before you reach for the sand paper try the least abrasive options first, like

Tooth paste, Brasso, car polish, wet and dry.

I used rubbing compound paste on mine. Rubbed for ages, then finished off with a couple of glass polishers. Reasonable results, not perfect but hell of a better than they were. Time will tell.

I used Halford Cutting Paste on my Cougar headlights when they started looking a bit cracked / hazy. Didn't come up too bad, but I went for new lights in the end cos I couldn't get them perfect.

Hopefully Vectra ones will be a lot easier to source!
