Default Can rear parking sensors be fitted incorrectly?

was nipping thru dundee today and came across a nice blue facelift. now on closer examination i noticed that it had after market parking sensors on the rear BUT they were mounted in a line right thru the center of the boot!

am i right in saying that this is kinda pointless? or can they work properly like that? Tim

All very well mounting them there as far as distance to obstruction goes, but he's lost about 4 inches of safe distance due to the bumper finishing further to the rear than the boot lid.

I suspect it'll be less effective on low-level obstacles too.

It's the mindset of the person fitting them that gets me, how can someone be satisfied in doing the job that way when to do it right and effectively, would have only cost a couple of quid,,,if that,,, more and taken a similar amount of time?

Have to agree. Took my time doing mine and love them. Make tight parking way easier. And all for 20 quid.
