    Default Job Interview, Help!

I've reached the second stage of the interview process for being a Trainee Air Traffic Controller, its way down in Fareham, Hampshire which is about a 500 mile trek for me!! Anyway quite an intimidating prospect, don't suppose anybody here is by chance in the profession or knows anything about it, any help or advice appreciated!

unless they've advertised for previous experience then i wouldn't worry....there is no way trying to blag your way through it trying to show that you know about it when you don't.

i think the best thing to do is be honest.....and i'm sure you'll find that they will provide some intense training with the job!

    good luck by the way!!

Thats what I thought, but apparently they expect you to do alot of research before the interview and they want to know what you've found out about!! EEK! lol to be honest I'm surprised I passed the initial personality test.....

by all means do some research, but if you're not from that industry (and they must know that already) then they can't expect you to know everything - just general facts and some very loose figures!

i hope you got a bit of time before the interview to do some google-ing!!

I think like with any job interview, do a bit of research first. Do some Googleing for info. It looks like you are showing more of an interest if you have some info....Helps you prepare also.

Yeah, its over a week away so just reading the forty page e-booklet they sent lol

I heard somebody mention it wouldn't be unusual to expect you to try and visit a control tower out of interest! Although post 9/11 I wouldn't expect so.

Thanks for the good luck comments guys!

Loads of good luck going your way!!

I haven't got experience in the profession, but I am sure they are looking fr the same things most companies look for in a prospective new employee - enthusiasm, eagerness to learn new skills, and honesty.

Find yourself some info on the 'net, read their booklet cover to cover and pick out some interesting points to ask them about. Be honest if you don't know about a certain topic, don't try and bluff your way through, and explain that you're really looking forward to acquiring new skills in a new profession.

Oh, and just to prove that a forum exists for everything -
