Default Can someone open their Pre-Facelift key for me PLEASE? Quite URGENT.

I have just changed the cover of my 3-button pre-facelift key but I couldnt see the little transponder chip.

I am not with the car so cant go an test the bleeder.

Can someone please open their key for me and check to see if there is a transponder chip in there.

On my Vec-B key there is a small chip slid into the actual key part of the key fob.

Hope I havent lost the flipping thing!!

    PLEASE.

If I have lost it, I will be on my hands and knees shortly.

    Bye bye Vec B

There was one in my key when i first got the car but a garage messed up the immobiliser and a mobile key wizard fixed it. He gave me the old chip telling me thats the problem. I presumed he replaced and reprogrammed the chip but when i opened the key last week to change the batt there was no chip, i also panicked and frantically searched around for it. The key and immobiliser still work without it though so he must have replaced the whole innards for a newer style with the chip built-in to the circuit board (strange thing was he didn't need the carpass?).

Alot of vectra c's dont have them mate, i opened my key in a restaurant thought id lost it on floor! Bit of research told me they was built into the board but as its an oldish design key the plastic slot for a transponder chip is still there.

Yep only on the older vauxhalls. The Vectra-C doesnt have a seperate chip. its built into the motherboard. Vauxhall were just being lazy and didnt change the key design until much later.
