Because its the same engine, same turbo, same everything except the 280 BHP model has an extra hole in the airbox.

Either the 255 model or the 280 model can be remapped to 305 BHP and 400 Lb/ft torque no problem.

Its been done over and over again by plenty of VXR owners, including me

On the later models Vauxhall revised the suspension (IDS2+). This now means that the original IDS suspension on earlier models is now discontinued. If you have a strut problem for MOT, unless you can get a second hand one, its likely that all the dampers will have to be replaced with the new IDS2+ ones (including springs) as the old springs dont fit. New suspension = £1,200 + fitting

On the earlier models they tend not to be as well equipped, later models had most of the optional extra's, which are good when you come to sell it and a nice extra when your cheering yourself up at the petrol station..... again.

    - Telephone Bluetooth
    - Automatic Forward Lighting (AFL) with Headlight Washers
    - Dual Zone Climate Control
    - Sat Nav
    - Parking Sensors
    - Leather Heated & Electric Seats

The earlier models didnt have a chrome edge strip on the front bumper grille either (minor point). They came colourcoded.

At the end of the day its still a VXR and you'll love the power it delivers, especially remapped. Just try and take your time to find a good one.
