Thread: vx locking wheel kits any good?

    Default vx locking wheel kits any good?

    hi all
    collecting my snowflakes sat and i dont have any locking wheel bolts so ive brought these which are apparently similar to McGuard ones.
    will they be alright?

    Yes they are ok, just make sure they are done up with a torque wrench and not a windy gun by a thick tyre fitter or when undone they can strip the locking key thread. Copper slip on the threads won't hurt either.

    I have used the vx sets - actually have one in the for sale section, its 7 years old and in perfect working order - so they can last.

    I also have also used the mcguards ones and they also lasted well and had no issues with them. I believe its down to how they are treated rather then how they are made.

    But if they want your wheels, they will just take the car and strip them in private.

    been there, had that done! mine has worn down quite a bit, and struggled to get most of my wheels off tonight...

    If thats what you want, cash, its not a bad offer. If they paypal then i'd want a little more as the fees soon get quite high.

    Use both, why not Extra protection and all that. Thats good for £10 imo

    thanks i will get them too them and some copper grease, have said £25 cash for the wheels, so see what happens
