Default What kind of Vectras (or signums) can you get for about 6k?

I think it's time for me to move on from the Vec as thats me had it for nearly 3 years (longest i've ever had a car)

After stripping my car and using some savings I should be looking in the price range of 6-7k but I want something a bit special. Something with a special feature be it a sunroof or AFL or something like that.

I'd like the mileage to be preferably under 50k as I barely cover any mileage in the year so the car would stay low mileage. Also barely covering any mileage means that something with not so excellent fuel economy could also be considered

I don't want running costs to be rediculously high and it must be something that i can work on myself.

Stay away from 1.9s. trust me.

What about any 2.0T, they seem to be rare in XPII spec mind you.

Believe it or not I was seriously considering a 1.9

And your right about XP2s they either seem to be really high mileage or really expensive

The inlet manifold is a major complaint on the 1.9, misfires can happen on any car.

Given the cost of petrol, why not make that 'special' thing LPG?

Vectra 1.8 Dual Fuel does about 52mpg on petrol, 40mpg on LPG. But LPG is only 69p a litre. Also because the emissions figure for road tax purposes are based on the LPG figure if it's Vauxhall fitted, it's only £145 for 12 months.

OK, so the 1.8 Vectra isn't the quickest car in the range, but you can get a top spec pre-facelift Elite Dual Fuel for under £4000 if you look around. I've seen 2.0T SXIs with aftermarket LPG conversions for under £4000 too.

Might not be what you're after, but it's something to think about. Being able to drive twice as far for the same money has to have some attractions?

Tbh (and sorry to any VXR owners) I think they are just too expensive to tax, run and insure. Also at 1.5 hours to change the spark plugs a bit of a nightmare to a diy mechanic

The only one I would buy on duel fuel would be a 2.8v6 but they seem to be as rare as hens teeth. I already have a "preface" Vec so i kinda want to come up the years a fair bit. Thanks for the suggestion though
