Default Is an engine conversion possible?

My 1.9 Cdti needs a new engine. No compression and sounds serious.

If possible Could i convert it to a 2.0 turbo?

Or failing that could I put a 150 16v cdti in because its an 8v 120 at the moment.

Upgrading wise it would be easier to put a 150 in but still alot of ballache and hassle I'd say. If the engine has had it m8, then in all probability get rid and go for another Vec with the 150 in it if you can.

Tbh m8 I don't fully know what's involved and I am assuming a new ECU would be needed. That's why I made the suggestion. Fail in that what about just getting a replacement 120 engine?

By the time you've replaced the engine, the fuel tank, the fuel lines, the fuel pump, all the ancillaries, the entire wiring loom, the ecu etc etc etc, you've effectively got a new car anyway and spent thousands doing it. Whilst anything's possible if you've got enough money to throw at it, I'd say from what you've said you don't have.

Seriously, fix it or trade it in for another one.

You'd also have to change the speedo clocks, the airbox, the springs, your brakes would be too small for the 2.0T's performance, the traction control might not be calibrated properly to the new engine.....
