Default How much do you reckon I saved myself??

    Last night and today,

changed pollen filter, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, complete oil change and spark plug change.

All parts original GM (on trade club, inc. oil) except K&N panel filter and magnetic sump plug.

So how much do you reckon I saved myself in labour & time etc. by not taking it to main dealer? (All on Signum 2.8t)

I'm heading off camping next week, apart from the above, tyre pressure check, fluid levels (brake, washer and coolant) checks, what else would you check??

Wouldn't be surprised if you'd have been billed at 2 hrs labour for that, plus what they make on parts...

My local motor factors sells the exact same brand of fuel filters as VX, but half the price, so for filters, then a saving can be had. Oil, you won't want to put junk in, so praps not much of a saving to be had there.

Seems like you've got it covered, IMHO!

All wheels were taken off, tyres checked and cleaned when I cleaned the car last week. I had two new tyres fitted in the last two weeks on the front, when I had them off I moved the wheels with the new tyres to the rear, springs were grand at that stage.

Dunno about the rest but as far as can find out VX bill 1.5 hrs on the spark plugs alone

I think you would know about that one pretty quickly.

One of mine snapped whilst on holiday, thankfully I never really got up to any real speed. I was just moving off when I could smell rubber burning and a noise from the NSF. Wrecked a two week old tyre in the process

I'd guess around £50 on parts, if you used Trade Club, and a futher £60-£100 labour by doing it yourself.
