ive replaced the vacuum pipe for silicone, but its the metal hard pipes with oil resting ontop of them!!!!
Are the swirls knac****d, if so the oil residue gets soaked into the underside of the beauty cover then will wet/soak onto other pipes it comes into contact with, but pics would help with this diagnosis.
mine was the same, if not the oil breather for the cam cover is not sealed properly (most like due to a knackered clip on the pipe). This would also do the same. Due to your CDTI 150 being 2004 I am more inclined to agree with wizard, swirl flaps are the more suspect.
Photos would really help, as on another thread I got the impression the vacuum pipes were missing.
right, just been out, ive disconnected both vac lines and run from the pump to the boost sensor thing. 2nd vac pipe not connected, car runs much smoother now.
no 4 swirl is oily yes, but bar connected and free moving
the oil breather has no clip ive just noticed, this cause an issue, doesnt seem to tightly connected
I would say both are the issue then. You disconnected the vacuum pipes and it's running smoother, I presume on idle only? Thos vacuum pipes operate the turbocharger. Then the vacuum is sufficient enough the turbo vanes open and this generates boost. Without the vacuum the engine won't run with very much power.
the vacuum is connected from the pump to the boost valve only, car runs much much better like this.
yeah, ill get a jubilee on the breather and see if this helps, cheers fellas
Can you post a pic of how you have the pipes connected.

post 6, the 2 metal pipes on mine have no silicone pipes attatched. the pipe from the bottom of the pump goes to the valve circled in blue......
runs fine like this, but obviously aint right, can any one shed any light?
when engine on the 2 metal pipes with open ends produce no vaccuum or anything.
hmmmh
also the oil i think has come from the breather pipe which was missing a clip and spurting out under pressure, i have reclipped this now....
just want confirmation on the pipe layout and what function these 2 metal pipes have..
