    Default Help me decide exhaust

I am getting a dual exit exhaust done next week. I also bought the sri dual valance from GPS for £50 inc p&p

I am getting it done with powerflow, no centre box. He also agreed to remove old valance and fit new one. He did say if I wanted it de-catted then this would also be done free.

Question is do i? I am sure I have heard MOT rules may make this a failure

    Car is a cdti 150

the decat/no decat is no brainer... decat it!.. as long as emmisions pass...mot is a pass .. if in doubt get exhaust guys to make decat pipe and fit flanges to cat so you can refit it.. (est about 50 notes)... but to be honest.. if it doesn't pass.. theres many mot places that will turn a blind eye and will sort it(yes i know its wrong.. but they will )

Rumour has it that coming soon to an MOT station near you, a diesel without a cat will fail. Come early to avoid disappointment.

Is this just hearsay or have VOSA actually published anything?

Just remember there's talks about on the spot emission checks at the roadside, isn't worth the risk imo

Emissions arnt checked on Diesels mate only soot particle density. A de cat on an oil burner makes no difference.
