    Default ghost in the machine?????

started a few months ago, getting intermittent warning lights popping off & on, (but now happening more frequently) my elite estate 1.9 cdti (150) have front parking light coming on for a few days then going off, lamps fine, also does the headlamps as well, tailgate open warning light comes on, also the dreaded spanner light has come on a couple of times when driving and i just switch off the engine (while driving) & switch it on again and it goes fine full power restored, also my favourite safeguard

some one suggested disconnecting the battery?
is it safe to disconnect the battery for longer than 30min?
    (will it wipe my remap?)

    any ideas suggestions

    cheers

you won't lose your map... just make sure you've got your radio code but I don't think thats the issue..
I'd suggest getting the fault codes read and go from there.

I have never needed my radio code even if I disconnect battery for an hour. The only thing I have to reset is the one touch electric window operation.

Probably because your car is full canbus and the stereo is coded to the display and doesn't require a code after a power interpution.

Sounds like it needs investigating, and codes read. Could be something as simple as a loose connection, or as expensive as the CIM.
