There are five options on the DRL set up in the underhood module

    These are:-
    No DRL's
    Side lights as DRL's
    Dipped lights as DRL's
Front Fogs as DRL's (Illegal in this country)
    Adaptive Forward Lighting as DRL's

You can also have the REC programmed for DRL's, if you wish the tail lights to come on with the ignition..

Just a point of knowledge... TIS will not tell you what the 4 DRL options relate to, and if you try going through them all in one go, then the UEC (underhood module) gets confused, and you find that either your front fogs or headlights will not turn off.

The only cure is to pull the main battery for half an hour.

All should be set to your last setting when you refit the battery.
Otherwise the fogs or headlamps should work as normal.

Nope you cannot do this, because all the contact wires operate at a specific resistance / voltage, to tell the BCM which lighting function that the UEC needs to fulfil.

What you can do is pig about with an ignition controlled relay, that can short the two relevant solder pads within the switch unit.

I did something similar to this on a lighting unit to control the illumination of my CD70 in my 1994 Cavalier Mk3.

A bit of a fiddle to get two wires in but doable, as I found out when I put extra wires in the wife's Vectra-C light switch unit to fit non-CAN controlled front fogs

Half CAN wiring is no different.

Slightly confused about your previous post Robsey, are you saying that DRL's set to side lights can be set via Tech 2/Op-com so that the minute you start the car your side lights come on at the front?

Because if so, can you be more specific as that's exactly what I'm looking for and would save a lot of wiring in relays etc lol

That is exactly what I am saying
Bear with me a minute, whilst I look at a post on a different forum
(which I cannot mention on this forum).

Okay.. as described on the other site.
Thanks to the Vectra-C member who posted this response.

    Option 1 is sidelights,
    Option 2 is headlights
either 3 or 4 is factory fitted or CAN controlled front fogs...
and the other option is for Adaptive Forward Lighting ..

Cheers Robsey. Do you know if this is an option with half-can as well as full-can cars?

Yes it is an option for ALL Vectra-C's

I have found when fitting modules to my Cavalier, that I can happily mix and match half and full CAN components..

I used half CAN BCM and CIM alongside full CAN CD70, GID and lighting switch.

TIS does not specify any differences in the wiring within and between the components.. only the half-CAN infotainment system.. which with regard to DRL's is irrelevant

Do bear in mind about how to go about programming if you are doing it yourself.

The UEC does get confused easily - lol

PM me if you any more info.. or links to the "other" forum.

It depends upon which Option you click during programming

I assume that he must have clicked on option 3 to have side and dipped lights on. (where fogs are not factory fitted / CAN enabled).
