    Default Blooming Window Washer Jets

    Hi all

Got a 05 1.8 SRi. The window washers only trickle out after being held on for a few mins and got an MOT soon.

When i bought the car - it was winter and had new jet nozzles so never used them. Since then - thought i better use them. Low and behold nothing was coming through.

Replaced the pump the other day and then got a trickle - followed my friend to lincoln and he washed his vectra c front screen - the over spray cleaned mine. What should i replace next as im confused.

Dont want to start buying bits that wont make any difference. It seems to come out of the pump ok - not sure how powerful its meant to be out of the pump without the pipe, same force before the nozzles but then nothing. Am i right to think i should just replace the nozzles again and guess that the shop never actually did it?

    Cheers

    Steve

As Lizard says take the whole bottle out and give it a good clean out, they get gunked up if you don't use a good screen wash, the bottle gets green and black mouldy gunk building up which then ends up covering the filter.
I bought the bigger washer bottle and you clearly see all the black gunk inside it.

Flash Spray Bleach, one of those long handled spiky brushes and a piece wire with a bent end to get the last of the inaccessible area. However I have since found out that adding a handful of uncooked rice and shaking it around does a pretty good job too.

you can get at it and pull it out the bottle without even taking the wheel arch lining off, if you know what you are looking for, just feel up and behind the bumper just in front of the wheel, and there is enough room to pull it out
