there bad for trying to fob you off by saying "its not covered, will you pay half of the repair" is very common with them, if you have a really genuine claim you should be ok, i always say take the extended warrenty when buying a car, its better than not having any. just work a deal out, like reduce the price of the car!

Ask for a sample policy document
Members here have reported they do cover the DMF, but not the clutch
So therefore well worth the money

You can also ask them to transfer the car to Network Q
That is what I do, I then add the Complete Motoring Plan which includes all servicing, brakes, and clutch (basically free)
They will initially be reluctant to perform the swap to Network Q, but once they work out the commission for the Complete Motoring Plan they can't fall over themselves quick enough!

Alternatively, look at a third party warranty, and I have used the AA repair cover making several claims without any issue as Arnold Clark have an account with The AA
The disadvantage is the hassle and time, plus the £25 excess

As above whenever my old gsi decided It wasn't wanting to play the autocare warranty helped me a few times, was also surprised to get snapped springs covered by it aswell. Also gets you a hire car from Arnold Clark rental if your car is off the road for warranty work.

Thats correct gaskets and seals are not covered BUT the expensive head gasket is.

When i had my gsi i had to pay to get my oil pump seals replaced but got my head gasket done at the same time under warranty.
