Default Changed rear coils, check the pics !

When i got thiscar i noticed at last service it advised of a cracked rear spring. I jack it up and cant see crack but do spot one side is different to the other ...i put this down to perhaps its lost a coil! Anyway i dont believe in just doing the advised side so bought two coils and fitted them tonight...look at pics of springs...both fitted at different garages ..one claimed to specialise in top end cars and servicing etc the other was kwik fit !!!

Two different shaped springs, different thicknesses etc ...i just cant believe a garage would put this type of work out !!!

    ... A kwikfit fitter?

I was going to say one is an aftermarket spring but it looks like it may be a completely wrong spring lol

your right cos the one on the left is a progessive coil spring and i cant believe any fitter even a kwick fit muppet would miss that

as I say..if you can DIY then your best off doing it yourself..at the least you know its rite and it helps the bonding process.A bita tlc never hurt no one.

i agree with the DIY thing, i am reading more and more posts of people attempting jobs they wouldnt have touched previously, you do know its done right and it gives great satisfaction !

I am going to Holland on Thursday in the Vectra and glad i done this, i would probably have got away with leaving them until i was back but it would have been a PITA always wondering if it was going to make it !!

    Default For Info

What is the correct spring length and number of coils please?

I looked in the KYB pdf catalog for their K-FLEX springs and they say that their number is RX6217 for a 1.9 CDTI ESTATE but when the springs arrive I would like to be able to check them, the full spec would be ideal but the the above info would be a good guide.
