Cool I think I've discovered the problem with Vauxhall's business model...

So, in preparation for some work I'm doing to the Vectra soon, I went scouring t'internet for some replacement coolant. I'm planning on flushing it, and it needs 7.5 litres (ish) at a 50/50 mix, so I needed 4 litres. Sorted.

I knew the Vauxhall stuff was fairly cheap, and eBay is usually a good place to start. Didn't take me long to find this...

    Genuine VX Aintifreeze

Now, for reasons I won't go into, I happen to know that this seller is actually Moorland Motors of Blackpool, a VX dealership about 5 miles down the road from me. As I wasn't here when I ordered it, I didn't consider selecting collection in person. I'm also lazy like that...

So, a few days later, it turns up. 4 seperate bottles, wrapped tightly in a few black bags with lots of tape. Not the most aesthetically pleasing of packaging, but it does that job.

I paid 3 quid for each bottle, plus £2.50 postage and packing. Delivered to my door, without me having to leave the computer. If this was Facebook, I'd 'Like' that...

Upon reading the invoice, and checking the postage label, something odd struck me. I'll let you figure out what it is...

Yes - they made a loss of ten squid in that transaction...

Plenty of other useful stuff on their page, including some engine oil...

Hats off to that seller for honouring the transaction.. They obviously made a mistake with the listing, it looks to have been rectified now, the p&p states £2.50 , and £2.00 for each additional item... Your p&p charge would now be £8.50 .. They're still making a loss though, or maybe they usually use a courier, but didnt when sending yours..
