    Default Need Urgent help/advice....please!

Bought my car 2 months ago from Evan halshaws, which came with 3 month standard warranty.

Car had its gear box replaced by them, within the first week as the nob kept coming off.

Then, the car kept going into limp mode, with spanner on the dash, they attempted to diagnose twice, but told us no Fault.

It happened a third time last week, so my partner drove it into then in limp mode, with ignition still on, she demanded a mech come take a look with his tech2. At last, fault recorded. It was a fuel pressure regulator. And they booked us, which was today. At the time we were told it would take 2 days to fix. Still under warranty mind, so we were relieved they finally diagnosed it.

Anyway, partner picked the car up from them tonight only to be told they havenít fixed anthing, or even bothered to order the part. Basically, telling us that they donít believe they are liable for any work as they donít have any warranty papers for our car! But we were like, ďyou sold it to us with your standard 3 month warranty!Ē also bear in mind they have already replaced the gear box for us, and attempted to diagnose the cars fault on 2 occasions...all for free apparently!!!

At time of purchase, we were issued with a 3 months mech breakdown guarantee booklet; however they havenít signed or stamped the proposal form!

I suspect they are realising how big a job this is, and are back peddling.

Thing is we only bought this car off them as we bought a new caravan, and because of my license restrictions for towing, this car was perfect.

So we are due to go away for a week in our caravan on the 22nd July, next Friday, and i fear we may not be able..........RAGING! as this was the only reason we traded our car in.

They said they will order the part once they determine who is liable, but this would take 3-5 days, plus the 2 days to fix the car!!!

    What can i do?

Best thing you can do is ring trading standards and ask them for advice otherwise sit on the doorstep until they fix it.

Sit tight, and then see what they say. No point blowing a gasket until you have had it finally verified they are not going to Honor the warranty.

If they don't, then its CAB and legal advice. The fact that they have repaired or done work already if self omission from the start.

    Just sit it out.

thatís what I thought! Just needed reassurance.
Providing they admit liability and acknowledge the warranty, where do i stand regards my holidays that i have booked/payed for??

By rights the car was meant to be fixed today/tomorrow. If they screwed up with paper work, surely they will need to provide me with another suitable car with towbar for a fortnight whilst i go on holiday????

i'll be on their doorstep 9.30.

Go down and ask them why they are not honouring the 3 month warranty.

If they still fob you off ask them for the head office number and speak to them as 9 times out of 10 they will do the right thing.

Some codes dont show up with the cheap code readers.

I have found codes with Vaux_com that other code readers didnt find.
