    Default Radio removal?

Still trying to sort the reception problems on my CDC40 Opera but just wanted to ask - If I pull the radio do the cables come out with it or are they fixed to the backplate? If they are fixed and the radio 'disconnects' then will I have to tech2 it back in again? I just want to make sure all the rear connectors are connecting properly before I look to change the aerial base unit itself.

They're fixed to the back plate. Power will be lost so you may need the radio code. No need for Tech 2 though

Thanks but only have the security and key codes? So do these have a code of their own?

On vehicles with full CAN radios, you will not need either the security pass code nor Tech 2.

I have unplugged many CD30's, CDC40's, CD70's, TID's, GID's and CID's with no need to faff with any programming of codes etc.

You only need these for programming security changes to any component of your infotainment system.
    Divorcing - Disable Anti-theft protection
    Pairing / marrying - Enable Anti-theft protection.

The Display, DAB unit and head-unit all have quad-lock style connectors..which is like a flip-over cam latch.
They should be securely fitted into their relevant sockets, if they are in their "latched" positions.

    40 pin on the Head-unit
    32 pin on the Display
18 pin on the DAB unit.
